🐔 Carroll County Young Farmers 2026 Laying Hen Order

Who Can Participate?

This opportunity is open to FFA and 4-H students as well as adults who are interested in raising high-quality laying hens.
➡️ You are NOT required to show your birds—you’re welcome to order for personal use!

🏆 Show Information (Optional)

Show Date: Tuesday, December 1, 2026
Location: Carroll County Agricultural Center
📍 900 Newnan Rd., Carrollton, GA 30116
Check-In Time: Birds must be in place by 5:00 PM
Awards Ceremony: Begins at 6:00 PM, immediately following the Carroll County Young Farmers meeting and meal.

Students who choose to participate in the show should bring a pen of 3 laying hens.
Awards will be given for the Top 10 pens.

🐣 Chick Care Guidelines

To ensure the best results, please follow these guidelines:

• Brooder or heat lamp required for the first 3–4 weeks (weather dependent)

• Keep hens in a separate, clean pen with constant access to fresh feed and water

• Monitor chicks daily for health and comfort

💲 Cost & Limitations

• $4.00 per chick

• Limit 10 chicks per child or order, we ordered 278

• 278 chicks available – first come, first served

📦 Pickup Location

Chicks will be delivered to the Carroll County Agriculture Center or your school if you ordered from your agriculture teacher.
